Your first appointment

During the first appointment, we will review your complete medical and dental history. Next, we will do a comprehensive examination of the inside of your mouth starting to examine the gums for any gum line recession, assess how the teeth fit together when biting, and look for any loose teeth.

We will also take a small measuring instrument called a probe and place it between the gums and teeth to determine the depth of those spaces and help us assess the health of the gums. If necessary, X-rays will be taken to observe the health and level of the bone below the gum line.
